Do Something: PawFest, Korean Food and Culture Festival taking place in Cherry Hill this weekend

Residents and their pets will converge on Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living this Saturday, while a couple shore towns will be getting an early start on Halloween. Check out what activities and events are taking place around the region this weekend.

  • Animal lovers and their pets are invited to Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living on Saturday for their annual PawFest. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and include a costumed pet parade through the Spring Hills building, pictures with dogs, refreshments and more. Owners are welcome to dress up in matching costumes with their pets. The event will benefit a local animal shelter. Guests are asked to bring donations of pet food, blankets, treats and more.   • The First Korean United Methodist Church of Cherry Hill is hosting its third annual Korean Food and Culture Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will include more than 10 traditional Korean food dishes as well as cultural performances inside the church family center. Profits from the event will support children in Africa who are suffering and dying from malaria. The profits of the festival will be used to repair the houses affected by Superstorm Sandy four years ago in New Jersey. Call (856) 424–9686 for more information.

Around South Jersey

· Medford Lakes will celebrate its annual Fall Festival and Oktoberfest on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Aetna Way, Beach 1 and Vaughan Hall. The area will be transformed into a festive village with crafters, brewers, food, a petting zoo, farmer’s markets and more. There will also be live music, games, and face painting. At the Jersey Shore

· Sea Isle City will be celebrating Octoberfest on Saturday at Excursion Park, located at 40th Street and Pleasure Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include hayrides on the beach, a pie baking contest, moon bounces for kids, pumpkin painting and more. · The Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. on the boardwalk. Participants can dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and try to win an award for being the best dressed. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for kids. · Cape May will be hosting its Halloween Parade on Sunday at the Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Avenue in Cape May. · The second day of the Harry Potter Festival in Chestnut Hill will take place on Saturday along six blocks of Germantown Avenue. · Kids have a chance to snag a pumpkin on Saturday at Franklin Square. Kids under 10 will be permitted to pick a free pumpkin at a pumpkin patch in the park. There will also be tables set up for kids to decorate their pumpkins.
