Letter to the Editor: I support Tom Fanelli for Voorhees Township Committee

I write this letter in support of my friend, Tom Fanelli, for Voorhees Township Committee.

Tom has always immersed himself into his community. Prior to moving to Voorhees, Tom served on the Lindenwold Board of Education and the Lindenwold Zoning Board.

Lindenwold’s loss was Voorhees’ gain when Tom and his family moved here over 25 years ago and immediately made an impact. He has been a volunteer member of the Voorhees Planning Board for 20 years and has served as its Chairman for the last eight years. While promoting smart growth in our town, Tom was influential in the approval of the Virtua Voorhees Medical Campus. This project created thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in ratables. Virtua has been an “economic magnet,” leading to our “medical mile” along Route 73.

As a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Tom serves as Eucharistic Minister and counsels couples preparing for marriage.

Tom has B.S. in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University. Prior to retiring in 2010, Tom worked for the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, administering programs for children and adults with physical and mental challenges. Tom now drives a school bus for the Eastern Regional and Voorhees Township School Districts.

Tom shares my vision of providing the best quality of life to the Voorhees community through efficient municipal services, great schools, safe parks and athletic fields and a strong police force.

Most importantly, Tom is a dedicated person who will join my commitment to making sure our home that we call Voorhees is left a better place for our children and grandchildren.

As the Mayor of Voorhees Township, I am proud to support Tom Fanelli for Voorhees Township Committee.
