What’s open and closed during Rosh Hashanah?

Find out what places in Cherry Hill Township will be open and closed during the celebration of the holiday on Monday and Tuesday.

The celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, began on Sunday night at sunset and will continue through nightfall on Tuesday. Because of the holiday, a number of places around Cherry Hill Township will have modified hours and schedules over the next two days. Here is a rundown of some places that are open or closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Post offices: Post offices will be open for regular hours on both Monday and Tuesday. There will also be mail delivery on both days.

Township offices: Cherry Hill Township offices will be open for normal business hours on both Monday and Tuesday. The Cherry Hill Planning Board meeting this week is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4 instead of the usual first Monday of the month.

Cherry Hill Public Library: The library will be open on its normal weekday schedule Monday and Tuesday,

Cherry Hill Public Schools: All schools are closed both Monday and Tuesday to students and staff. Board of education committee meetings typically scheduled for the first Monday or Tuesday of the month have been moved to either Wednesday, Oct. 5, or Thursday, Oct. 6. Visit www.chclc.org for updated dates and times.

Katz JCC: The Katz JCC is closed for the holiday on both Monday and Tuesday. It will re-open at its regular hours on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Banks: Nearly all banks will be open for their regular hours on both Monday and Tuesday.
