Burlington County hosts free shredding event on Oct. 8

Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield announced that she will be hosting a free shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Mount Laurel Campus, 3331 Route 38 in Mount Laurel.

“Confidential files contain information that in the wrong hands could spell disaster for us and our loved ones,” said Stanfield. “This free shredding event will allow our residents to shred files such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers, and keep their family’s identities safe.”

Residents are urged to bring only “confidential” documents to be shredded on-site. The County asks that residents NOT include binders, plastic folders, computer disks or credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.

“We are proud to make this free event available to Burlington County residents,” continued Stanfield. “For your convenience our staff will be on hand to unload your car, so you won’t even have to leave your vehicle!”

This event is for residents of Burlington County only. ID is required. No businesses or non-profits, please. For information, call (609) 499–1001 weekdays or email [email protected]
