The Medford Lakes Women’s Club continues its annual tradition of food and fun with the Fall Festival and Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 22 from noon to 5 p.m. Come out to enjoy a festive village atmosphere while the town’s Aetna Way dam and Beach One are transformed into booths and entertainment for all.
The event also features a petting zoo, crafters, brewers, local food, tarot readings, face painting, live music, contests, games and much more for families. Plus, the Strut Your Mutt contest will be held at 12:30 p.m., with prizes awarded to the best dog lovers in the area.
The fall festival’s location offers a nice walk along and spectacular views of Lower Aetna, one of the town’s largest lakes. Colony beaches are typically closed to non-members, but this event welcomes the public to the borough. Vaughan Hall, a newly restored cabin and meeting hall, is home to the beer garden and food vendors.
“A day at our festival will certainly set the tone for the season,” says Rachel Urban, festival organizer. “It puts you in the spirit and allows the whole family a fun day out together.”
The organizers have considered bad weather and offer a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 23, so be sure to check the forecast before heading out to enjoy the afternoon amidst the log cabins. The Medford Lakes Women’s Club is a volunteer group made up of residents and former residents of Medford Lakes who support the community with fundraising events and foster friendship for women in the area.
