The Cougars’ boys’ and girls’ soccer teams also won on Monday afternoon.
After dropping the opening set of Monday’s match against Gloucester County Institute of Technology, the Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball team rallied late, taking the second and third sets of their match to defeat the Cheetahs.
Sarah Pintel led the Cougars with 12 kills in the come from behind win. Kelly Babitz added 11 kills. Kim Longa led the team with 12 digs.
The win improved Cherry Hill East’s record to 8–4. The Cougars’ next game is on Wednesday at home against Eastern Regional High School.
Boys’ soccer wins big against Winslow
The Cherry Hill East boys’ soccer team cruised to a win at home on Monday, defeated Winslow Township High School, 6–0. Rob Sparrow scored twice for the Cougars in the win. Jose Andino, Jake Cerota, Tomasso Cavallo and Josh Snyder also scored. Dillon Holder made seven saves in net as he earned the shutout.
Girls’ soccer defeats Winslow
Emma Stopek scored for the Cougars to help lead them to a 2–1 victory on the road at Winslow on Monday. Nicole Hammerquist added an assist in the game. Sam Bourne made nine saves to help preserve the win.
