Letter to the Editor: I urge you to join me in voting for Mike Friedman for re-election to Township Committee

It is with great pleasure this year that I endorse my friend, Mike Friedman, for re-election to Voorhees Township Committee. Mike is a hard worker and very well organized. He has demonstrated to our residents that six years of checks and balances has worked to bring a more responsible, transparent government to Voorhees.

As the sole Republican on Township Committee, Mike has provided checks and balances on numerous issues involving our town budget and has reported on political favors and “pay to play” spending and appointments that directly and unnecessarily take money from the pockets of you the taxpayer.

Despite being a minority member, Mike has been a leader over the last six years, introducing several resolutions and ordinances with full bi-partisan support, such as a solicitation ordinance forcing solicitors to register and obtain permits from the township and support for the “Fairness Formula” which, if passed would bring in 13.8 million dollars into Voorhees schools and lower property taxes an average of $1,300 per household.

As a successful attorney, community leader, husband and father, Mike Friedman has exhibited the dedication and dogged determination required of a municipal leader to affect positive change and to continue to help make Voorhees one of the best towns in South Jersey.

For his efforts in the community, Mike was named Voorhees Citizen of the year by the Voorhees Rotary Club in 2015.

I strongly suggest referring to the website: www.friedmanforvoorhees.com for additional information on Mike and his accomplishments and I urge you to join me in voting for Mike for re-election to Township Committee in November.
