Maya Butani was selected as a semifinalist in the 2016 Broadcom MASTERS, a program of Society for Science and the Public. This honor places Butani among a select group of 300 semifinalists named from more than 6,000 nominees throughout the United States. It is a well-earned distinction of which Butani can be very proud. In honor of her 2016 semifinalist status, Butani will receive a package in the mail in the next two weeks containing:

- Broadcom MASTERSÂ decal
- Leather-bound Inventor’s Notebook and copy of Howtoons: Tools of Mass Construction graphic novel, courtesy of The Lemelson Foundation
- Digital family subscription with iPad app access to Science News magazine
- Digital subscription to Mathematica+ software, courtesy of Wolfram Research.

The next step in the Broadcom MASTERS takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at noon, when 30 finalists will be announced from among the 300 semifinalists.
As a Broadcom MASTERS semifinalist, Butani has already proven her ability to succeed in these subjects, which will lead her to an exciting career in any field.
