Burlington County asks for public assistance collecting school supplies

Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield is asking for public assistance in collecting school supplies for Burlington County children in need.

“A child’s ability to succeed in school should not be deterred by a lack of necessary resources. We are asking our communities to extend their generosity so that we can ensure that all children in Burlington County return to school with the materials they require,” Sheriff Stanfield stated.

The Sheriff’s Department will be coordinating with the Burlington County Library, the Tabernacle Baptist Church and other local organizations to collect and distribute items such as backpacks, three-ring binders, notebooks, writing utensils and much, much more.

“I think our county works best and benefits the most when we all come together to support and care for one another,” Sheriff Stanfield continued. “When our residents donate school supplies they are not only offering immediate help, but are also providing those students with the opportunity to advance their education.”

The donation drive will run through Aug. 10 with collection boxes in county buildings, at the Burlington County Library Main Branch and at the Burlington County Library Evesham Branch.
