Sen. Menendez Congratulates Student on Appointment to U.S. Naval Academy

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) congratulated Russell A. Bauer III for his appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy at a reception in the Senator’s Newark office held on June 13.

“It was a true honor to meet Russell, who will be representing New Jersey at the U.S. Naval Academy, one of world’s most selective institutions of higher learning,” said Sen. Menendez. “I am grateful to Russell for his willingness to serve our country and wish him the best of luck as he begins this new adventure.”

Bauer attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. His parents, Diane and Russell Bauer II, accompanied him to the reception. He is among 29 of the Senator’s nominees this year accepted to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies, chosen for their excellent academic records, leadership potential and strong character, among other criteria.
