Moorestown High School track athletes break records again

MHS Track 1

Moorestown High School junior Brandon Outlaw broke a school record in the 400 meters with a 47.60 effort. Earlier this week, teammate and classmate Kevin Fox broke the school record in the 800 meters with a stunning 1:52.60 performance. Brandon broke his own record at the BCSL Divisional Championships at Northern Burlington High School. At Haddonfield Memorial High School Distance Night, Kevin bested a mark set in 1963 by Barry Middleton of 1:55.4. Both boys are currently ranked №1 in New Jersey in their event and in the top 10 in the U.S. junior class, top 50 U.S. overall.

MHS Track 2

Kevin and Brandon joined sprinters Zion Howard and Skyler Clark for a new Moorestown High School 4×400 relay record of 3:23.9 at a dual meet at Willingboro. Earlier in the season, they teamed up with Clark and Melvin Sheppard to establish a new Sprint Medley mark of 3:31.66. The previous 4×400 mark of 3:24.0 was set in 1975 by K. MacDougal, D. King, J. Little and C. Maloney. The old Sprint Medley record, also set in 1975, was 3:34.5 by T. Swain, J. Little, K. MacDougal and L. Friedman. At the South Jersey Relays, the quartet of Outlaw, Howard, Clark and Greg Gamble set a new standard in the 4×200 meter relay with a 1:31.12, beating the time set in 1972 of 1:31.5 by F. Hall, B. Summers, G. Chinn and T. Cunningham.
