Mayor’s Column: Welcome summer with Voorhees’ 13th Annual Summer Concert Series

Warm weather offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The Voorhees Township Committee is pleased to welcome the summer of 2016 and our 13th Annual Summer Concert Series to be held on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park. We are excited to present another fun-filled summer of free entertainment.

The first show is Thursday, June 16 (rain date Sunday, June 19) and will feature the return of our most popular show, “Bruce in the USA”, the world’s №1 tribute to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. “Bruce in the USA” is much more than just another tribute band. This high energy musical experience is note-perfect and a visually active re-creation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band show. Voorhees Township is having a real live “Bruce Bash!”

The second show is Thursday, July 21 and will feature Parrot Beach, the Jimmy Buffett tribute band. Parrot Beach captures the laid back attitude and authentic tropical sounds for which Buffett is famous. Soak up the beach experience and enjoy a “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”

On Thursday, Aug. 11 we welcome the return of EagleMania-The World’s Greatest Eagles Tribute Band. EagleMania has dedicated itself to faithfully reproducing the sound of The Eagles. Since their inception, EagleMania has been thrilling audiences all over the East Coast with their stunning five part harmonies and uncanny ability to emulate The Eagles note by note. Their show consists of all of the Eagles greatest hits as well as some of the solo work of many of the individual members of the band such as Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh.

The Summer Twilight Series concludes with the township’s annual “Movie Night in the Park” on Saturday, Sept. 17 when we will be showing Disney’s animated hit movie, “Inside Out” on the “big screen.”

The Township’s Summer Twilight Series provides free fun for all ages with plenty of parking.

The Summer Twilight Series is made possible due to the generosity of our sponsors: Republic Bank, Hampton Inn/Voorhees, Hardenbergh Insurance, Environmental Resolutions Inc., DiMeglio Construction Company, MD Anderson Cooper Center and The Voorhees Sun.

Come out with your chairs or just sit on the “Great Lawn” and enjoy all the free shows that start at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.voorheesnj.com.
