Camden County Green Garden Fair on Saturday, May 14

The Freeholder Board’s Office of Sustainability will host the third annual Green Garden Fair on May 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Camden County Environmental Center, 1301 Park Boulevard in Cherry Hill.

This year’s special guest is Mike McGrath, host of WHYY’s “You Bet Your Garden”.

“Bring the entire family to this free event featuring activities, a garden market and great ideas for your yard,” said Freeholder Jonathan Young, liaison to Sustainable Camden County. “There will be workshops presented throughout the day for you to learn the secrets to a healthier garden.”

Workshops will be offered on organic and sustainable techniques, rain barrels, healthy cooking and beekeeping. The Green Garden Fair will also include activities for children including face painting and creating their own container garden. In addition, the fair’s market will feature a wide variety of flowers, herbs, vegetables and more for purchase.

“Bring your sick plant to a clinic hosted by the Camden County Master Gardeners Program to learn how to nurse it back to health from an expert,” Young said. “You can also bring a plant division to participate in a plant exchange with other gardeners.”

The fair is held in cooperation with Rutgers Master Gardeners of Camden County.

“We hope to see you for this day of fun and learning for every member of your family,” Young said. “Together, we can make a greener and more sustainable future for our community.”
