Dear Friends,
We have so much to talk about this month, let’s get right to it!
Our new May raffles are on display. The adult basket is a real “beauty” with hair care products and a free hair cut courtesy of Salon Pure. The children’s has all the fixings for s’mores, a book about the Space Shuttle and a Star Projector. Congratulations to our young readers for a record number of entries in April, over three hundred!
There are some new continuing program series also. One is Life Skills with the first offering on May 21 at noon. This is one that every driver needs to know, all about changing a tire. Should the worst happen while you are driving, you will be prepared to manage the situation. This workshop will be held, rain or shine, because tires don’t care about the weather.
Another series offered monthly is our Retirement Series. This month the topic is Social Security held on May 26 at 6 p.m. There will be guidance on maneuvering the ins and outs of a complicated and ever changing system to understand your options and how they benefit you. This is the first of a series of programs given by Meiyoko Taylor from Wealth Bridge Advisory Services about retirement and the government programs available to you.
One more great program is the PB&J Project. Girl Talk Marlton is a local peer-mentoring group providing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to Unforgotten Haven in Camden, a non-profit that feeds disadvantaged school children. The sandwiches are delivered every Friday to assure that children have food to eat over the weekend. How can you help? Just stop by the library to decorate a paper bag for the delivery of the sandwiches. Let the children know that someone cares.
Until next time, keep turning those pages! Or logging in!
