Weekly Medford Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Medford Township Police Department:

On April 16 at 8:30 a.m., Medford Police, Medford Fire, and Evesham EMS responded to the intersection of Church Road and Eayrestown Road for a two vehicle motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, police observed a 2003 Blue, Honda Odyssey in a ditch and a

2014 Silver, Nissan Altima in the roadway. Police investigation revealed that the driver of the Honda was stopped on Church road eastbound waiting at the red light when the driver of the Nissan, who was also traveling eastbound on Church Road struck the Honda from behind. Police investigation revealed that the driver of the Nissan was distracted by an item in the car, causing the collision. The driver of the Honda was treated and released at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to Virtua Hospital Marlton by Evesham EMS for back and neck pain and issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.

On April 22 at 2:42 a.m., Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS responded to a residence on Tallowood Drive for the report of a house fire.

Medford Township Fire, assisted by Medford Lakes Fire and Evesham Fire, quickly brought the fire under control.

The residence sustained fire, smoke and water damage.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Medford Township Fire Marshall in conjunction with the Medford Township Police Criminal Investigations Bureau.

The Medford Township Police are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred on April 23 at 9:30 p.m. in the area of Big Chief Trail.

An 11-year-old female was approached by an unknown male while walking home. The unknown person is a white male in his mid to late 40’s, with short hair that was slicked back, approximately 5’10” tall, wearing dirty blue jeans which appeared to be old, a pair of discolored brown work boots, a medium grey long sleeved thermal shirt.

The female also stated that the suspect had a raspy voice, hairy knuckles, thin to medium build, gray and black facial hair, a beard that met with his sideburns and had black hair with a grey stripe in the front portion of his hair.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Medford Township Police are requesting anyone that may have any information regarding this incident to call the Medford Township Police Citizen Tip line at (609) 714–0302 or email at [email protected].

On April 23 at 8:48 a.m., Medford Police and Fire Department, responded to a report of a smoke condition inside the business at AVM Salon located on 13 Tomlinson Mill Road.

Employees of AVM Salon arrived to the business and discovered smoke in the foyer of the business. Employees were able to locate a small fire contained in a bathroom, and were able to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher.

Fire Marshall responded to the location, and investigation into the incident is continuing.

The business sustained significant damage as a result of the blaze.
