Mayor’s Column: Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club 2016 Spring Egg Hunt on March 19

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club will present the 2016 Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 19 at Lions Lake Park, 101 Dutchtown Road. The event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, April 3.

Attractions include 4,000 eggs, music, games, face painting and a visit from everyone’s favorite bunny. The event is free and open to the public.

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has worked passionately and tirelessly since its inception in 2002 for the Voorhees Community. The group has donated thousands of dollars in scholarships to local high school students. They have also donated hundreds of food baskets and countless backpacks filled with school supplies to needy Voorhees families. The Club has provided meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and is a fixture at Voorhees Community events, particularly Halloween in the Park.

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club meets every Thursday morning at 7:15 a.m. at Short Hills Restaurant and Deli at 486 Evesham Road in Cherry Hill. For more information about the Club visit www.voorheesbreakfastrotary.org.

** The Voorhees Business Association’s Annual Bowling Fundraiser will be on Friday, April 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Big Event, 1536 Kings Hwy. North in Cherry Hill. This year, the event will benefit various community causes. Bowling lanes will be available for individuals and groups with a maximum of six bowlers per lane. For $20, an individual bowler will be teamed up with other bowlers. A $95 donation gets one lane for six bowlers and includes pizza and a pitcher of soda. A kingpin sponsorship is $100 and includes signage over three lanes. A $150 corporate sponsorship gets one lane with signage, bowling for up to six bowlers, a free pizza and a pitcher of soda. ** The 8th Annual Community “Walk 4 Family & Friends with Cancer” will be held on Sunday, April 17 at 8 a.m. at the Voorhees Middle School, 1000 Holly Oak Dr. Proceeds will benefit the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania and the Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) of Southern New Jersey Financial Assistance for Cancer Patients Program which provides financial assistance for local families affected by cancer.
