The award-winning ShowKids are taking audiences on an adventure in “Seussical the Musical”
“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’s characters collide and cavort in a musical caper staged by ShowKids Invitational Theatre (SKIT).
Among the Seussical cast, the Nasto sisters of Mt. Laurel, Emma and Maddie, and cousin Andrew Pedri are third generation SKIT performers. Their grandfather, Tom Newman, appeared as Maurice in last season’s Beauty and the Beast and their mother Krisy grew up on stage performing with SKIT and is now co-directing with her mother, Carol Newman, as well as choreographing “Seussical.”
Emma, age 9, appeared most recently as the adorable Chip in Beauty and the Beast, and continues her adventures this season as Jojo.
Her sister Maddie, age 6, is appearing as Young Kangaroo, and cousin Andrew (age 5, of Hazelton, Pa., as the Elephant Bird and they are both making their SKIT debuts in “Seussical.”
“Seussical the Musical” springs to life on Jan. 23 through 31, with performances presented on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Jan 24 at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. All six performances will take place at Voorhees High School, 256 Country Road 513, Glen Gardner.
