The Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield has announced that her department will once again host a Senior Citizen’s Police Academy on six consecutive Thursdays beginning Feb. 11 and running through March 17.
The program, which focuses on safety issues important to seniors, is free. Those interested in attending should call the Sheriff’s Community Services Unit at (609) 265–3788.
“Senior citizens will gain a wealth of information and knowledge on how they can better protect themselves from violence, accidents and even consumer fraud,” Stanfield said. “Participants will get have an opportunity to experience some of the county’s many law enforcement and public safety resources firsthand.”

-Personal Protection
-Home Security
-Photo ID cards
-Fire Safety
The classes will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Emergency Services Training Center, located at 53 Academy Drive Westampton, NJ 08060. All participants will also be provided with a Senior I.D. Card.
Graduation will be held on the last day of the academy, refreshments will be provided.
