Tickets on sale for Katz JCC’s annual Gourmet Wine and Dine
The community is invited to attend the Katz JCC’s sixth annual Gourmet Wine and Dine on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 5:30 pm. This Cuban kosher culinary experience, which supports the Katz JCC’s adult nutrition program, will feature the cuisine of Chef Guillermo Pernot of Cuba Libre and Chef Robert Bennett of Classic Cake.
Pernot is a two-time James Beard Award Winner, and executive chef of Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar in Philadelphia. Pernot is credited with introducing Nuevo Latino cuisine to Philadelphia, and his dishes are full of color, aroma and style, which are attributed to his culinary dedication to his roots.
Bennett is the driving force behind Classic Cake. Bennett is continuously introducing unique desserts, pastries, gelato, sorbet and chocolates and over the years he has shared his passion for cooking through his work as a chef, teacher and U.S. Ambassador for the Barry-Callebut Chocolate Company.
Admission for the Gourmet Wine and Dine is $85 per person and includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a Cuban inspired meal, dessert, music, and a discovery of Jewish Cuban heritage. This is a Glatt kosher meal under the Orthodox supervision of Cherry K Vaad Hakashruth.
