Evesham Police start ‘Bright Lights & Holiday Nights’ home decorating contest

EveshamPolice

Those who have decorated the outside of their Evesham Township home for the holidays are automatically eligible to enter the Evesham Township Police Department’s “Bright Lights & Holiday Nights” home decorating contest.

Residents don’t even need to fill out a form, they just have to be sure they and their neighbors vote through the department’s social media for their house to win.

During the ETPD’s neighborhood patrols this holiday season, Evesham officers will be looking out for creatively decorated homes.

When they see a contest-worthy house, they will attempt to make contact with the homeowner to obtain their permission for a picture.

The officer will use this meeting as an opportunity to introduce themselves to the community member and discuss any problems or concerns they may have.

These types of interactions are a unique way to strengthen the relationship between the police department and the community we serve.

This program is designed to enhance communication between Evesham citizens and township police officers.

ETPD believes that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role in establishing a strong partnership between the community and the police department.

Members of the community are encouraged to ask any questions related to the neighborhoods they live in.

Please join the department in nominating this year’s winner of the best decorated home contest.

The pictures of the chosen homes will be posted on ETPD social media pages beginning Dec. 14, and the home to receive the most “likes” on the ETPD Facebook page will be crowned the winner.

The department will announce the winner through its social media on Dec 23, and the resident will receive an ETPD gift basket.

Residents can nominate homes by contacting ETPD on Evesham Township’s Facebook Page or by joining the department’s Nextdoor social media discussion group.
