Family & Co. Jewelers raised $750 and collected care package items for Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey during its one-day Veterans Appreciation Sale on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The appreciation day made quite a splash with giveaway prizes, sales and a meet-and-greet with radio personality Jacky Bam Bam from WMMR 93.3 FM. During the event, a girlfriend was surprised when her boyfriend proposed right there in the store.
“Our store was buzzing with excitement all day long,” says Angelo Breaux Sr., third-generation owner of the Family & Co. Jewelers and longtime supporter of Operation Yellow Ribbon. “Jacky Bam Bam was a character and he taped a promo video in the store. Our customers were extras. Jacky cheered on our customer who popped the question to his girlfriend. The whole store went crazy and applauded.”
Breaux will be hosting more special events at Family & Co. Jewelers now that the holiday season is approaching, including a ladies’ shopping extravaganza on Thursday, Dec. 3 and an upscale event for men on Thursday, Dec. 17.
Family and Co. Jewelers is a collection point for Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey. The public is encouraged to stop by with donation items like snacks, candy, batteries and puzzle books.
