Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club announces Community Service Award honorees for 2015

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has announced their Community Service Award honorees for 2015. Val F. Nunnenkamp of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Fox and Roach Realtors has been chosen as Voorhees Business Person of the Year, Michael Friedman, attorney, as Voorhees Citizen of the Year, Police Chief Louis Bordi as Voorhees First Responder of the Year and Alexa Grabelle, an Eastern High School student and founder of Bags of Books, as Voorhees Selfless Student of the Year.

Inspired by their motto, “Service Above Self,” the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has been formally recognizing others in the community who live by the same credo for the past five years.

”Every year the Club receives nominations for some truly extraordinary individuals,” said Mark Schott, Awards Dinner Committee Chair. “This year, we are so pleased, once again, to honor a few unsung heroes whose dedication to the community enhances the quality of life for so many.”

Award winners will be honored during the Sixth Annual Voorhees Community Service Awards Dinner on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Mansion on Main Street.

The awards ceremony will follow a sumptuous celebration that will include hors d’oeuvres, a served, sit-down dinner and dessert, with wine and beer available all evening.

Tickets for the Voorhees Community Service Awards Dinner may be purchased for $80 each or $625 for a table of eight.

Those wishing to order tickets should send a check payable to “Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation” to the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club, P.O. Box 1645, Voorhees, NJ 08043.
