Medford Quakers to host ChildrenSong of NJ in free concert on Dec. 5
Fresh from a special performance in October at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, the noted Haddonfield-based chorus, ChildrenSong of New Jersey, will bring their music to Medford Friends Meeting located at 14 Union Street, on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Artistic Director Polly Murray has programmed a lively concert entitled “Welcome Yule!”
The annual admission-free event coincides with the Dickens Festival in historic Medford Village.
“We will be singing selections from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols,” Murray said. “And there’ll be plenty of Christmas favorites and a holiday sing along. The children especially love singing at this Dickens Festival concert.”
Medford Quakers have been offering a holiday concerts for more than 25 years as a gift to their neighbors and friends. All are welcome and no tickets are needed.
The house opens at 6:30 p.m. A reception follows the concert. The Pinelands Garden Club will again offer handmade wreaths and arrangements. ChildrenSong will also have a table with information and CDs available.
