Voorhees Township Committee has added two new Democrats to its ranks, keeping the committee solidly in control of Democrats.
According to the Camden County Board of Elections, Democrats Jason Ravitz and Michelle Nocito each won a spot on committee in Tuesday’s general election.
With the committee currently comprised of four Democrats and one Republican, this year incumbent Democrats Mario DiNatale and Andi Ayes chose not to seek re-election for the coming term.
As of Tuesday’s election Ravitz and Nocito will fill those seats.
With 100 percent of Voorhees districts reporting in, Ravitz received 2,649 votes (28.75 percent), and Nocito received 2,640 votes (28.66 percent).
Ravitz and Nocito beat out Republican candidates Dave Adamson and Heidi Handler.
Adamson received 1,919 votes (20.83 percent) and Handler received 2,000 votes (21.71 percent).
In the race for Voorhees Township Board of Education, incumbent board members Denise Kirkland and Amy Lynch, along with current board vice president Barbara Dunleavy, were all elected to another three-year term in an uncontested race.
Kirkland received 2,797 votes (32.95 percent), Lynch received 2,790 votes (32.87 percent) and Dunleavy received 2,872 votes (33.83 percent).
In another uncontested race for two spots on Eastern Regional High School District BOE, the current Voorhees representatives each won with Robert L. Campbell receiving 2,888 votes (50.54 percent) and Richard A. Teichman 2,799 votes (48.98 percent).
In county and state races in which Voorhees voters had a say, Democrats also swept.
In the race for Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders for three, full terms winners were Jeffrey L. Nash (D), Susan Shin Angulo (D), and William F. Moen Jr. (D), beating out Winston Extavour (R), Ian Gill (R) and Rob Stone (R)
In the race for Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders for an unexpired term, Jonathan L. Young Sr. (D) bested Theodore “Teddy” M. Liddell (R).
For the Camden County sheriff race Gilbert L. “Whip” Wilson (D) won against Lou Hannon (R).
For the Camden County surrogate race Michelle Gentek-Mayer (D) won out against Joseph Rodi Jr.
In the race for the 6th Legislative District of the NJ General Assembly, incumbents Louis D. Greenwald (D) and Pamela R. Lampitt (D) beat Holly Tate (R), Claire H. Gustafson (R), James Bracciante (Green Party) and Amanda Davis (Green Party).
