More reliable water service is coming to Cherry Hill as New Jersey American Water is replacing old water mains with brand new pipes.
New Jersey American Water is laying more than 16,000 feet of new main to replace lines that date back as early as the 1900s.
Work in Cherry Hill is proceeding along the following streets:
- North Riding Drive (from East Riding Drive to Marlkress Road), and on Easting Riding Drive (from Kresson Road to North Riding Drive)
- Moore Avenue (from Haddonfield-Berlin Road to Kresson Road)
- Coleman Avenue (from Moore Avenue to the dead end)
- Wayside Drive (from Pearlcroft Road to Old Carriage Road) and Wayside Court (from Wayside Drive to the dead end)
- Provincetown Road (from Kresson Road to Old Tavern Road)
- Provincetown Circle (from Provincetown Road to the dead end)
The approximately $2 million investment in water service upgrades is expected to be in service by the end of the year. Final street restoration will be completed in the spring of 2016.
With the installation of new water mains, New Jersey American Water customers should experience increased water flows, continued fire protection, and more reliable water service.
New Jersey American Water advises pedestrians and drivers to take caution in the vicinity of the work sites. The water main improvements are part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
