Burglary suspect arrested in Camden City after OnStar tracks stolen Evesham vehicle

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Oct. 31 at 8:30 a.m., Evesham officers responded to the unit block of Colonial Avenue for a reported overnight home burglary.

Investigation determined that the suspect(s) had entered the home through an unlocked garage door.

Once inside the home the suspect(s) targeted electronics.

The burglar(s) fled the home, leaving in the homeowners 2015 GMC Denali. The vehicles keys were stolen from inside the home.

Officers made an arrest in the overnight car theft in Camden City, thanks to teamwork and technology.

The SUV had OnStar and tracked the vehicle to Camden City.

Once Camden County Metro Officers had a visual on the stolen vehicle, OnStar remotely disabled the vehicle and the passengers were arrested without incident.

The vehicle and all stolen property was recovered and turned over to the owner.

Arrested:

A male, age 24, of Marlton, was charged with third degree receiving stolen property. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $10,000 bail.
