The HypnoBirthing Institute, the certifying board for HypnoBirthing Mongan Method, has announced “World HypnoBirthing Day” to mark the 25th anniversary of the technique.
World HypnoBirthing Day, which will be held on the Nov 15. will see a series of worldwide events to celebrate a quarter of a century of beautiful births.
HypnoBirthing Mongan Method began in the US in 1990. It was created by Marie Mongan. After the birth of her children she wanted to find a better way for families to welcome their babies into the world. Using her background as a hypnotherapist, she pioneered the highly acclaimed HypnoBirthing Mongan Method technique, now recognized as the first and original program of its kind.
HypnoBirthing Mongan Method is an antenatal technique that guides and prepares a woman to give birth gently and naturally, by empowering her with a set of techniques to give her full control of her birthing experience. It places great importance on both the psychological and physical well-being of the mother, her birth partner, and the newborn, independent of context, whether that be in the quiet of a home or hospital.
The HypnoBirthing Mongan Method program is built around an education process that includes special breathing, relaxation, visualization, affirmations, and self-hypnosis. It enables the birthing mother to focus on the moment, without dwelling on the past (in case of birth trauma) or worrying about the future. It has a huge impact on the way she reacts to her pregnancy and birth, providing her with a valuable tool to stay both physically and emotionally healthy throughout and in the following months.
Now in its 25th year, HypnoBirthing Mongan Method is taught in 46 countries across the globe and has helped thousands of women achieve happy, relaxed pregnancies and the best births for themselves and their babies. In the past 10 years alone, more than 250,000 copies of the book HypnoBirthing-The Mongan Method have been sold, and its popularity is growing year by year. It now has a celebrity following, including Pamela Anderson, Jessica Alba, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Middleton, and Anna Trebunskaya.
On World HypnoBirthing Day a series of special events will take place internationally. At 10 a.m. local time, HypnoBirthing Practitioners around the world, from Andorra to Argentina and Singapore to Serbia, will light a candle to create a wave of light. This will mark the start of a day of celebrations, with activites including butterfly releases, kite flying, nearly born and newly born parties, professional recognition awards and seminars from leading birth experts. The HypnoBirthing Institute will also use the day to unveil a new film of HypnoBirths.
