1. Make your final pitch. Why should you be elected as mayor?

Imagine the Future:

Over the years, Cherry Hill residents’ input into township government has been diminished. Developers, county officials and power brokers, and even the Governor, have had more influence than the people who live here, and our leaders have allowed the unwanted influence.

We should determine our quality of life issues, and our township’s future direction. I would not be silent when outside entities make decisions that impact us negatively. I would like to utilize the wisdom of our residents. It’s time to imagine a new future, where we rely on our own vast untapped resources. We the people of Cherry Hill will lead the way. 30 years of one party rule is too much.

I will be working for you!

1. Make your final pitch. Why should you be elected as mayor?

I would be honored to continue to serve as Mayor of Cherry Hill to build upon the great things we have achieved over the past four years. From a responsible budget with no tax increases, to preservation of open space, to strong property maintenance regulations for our neighborhoods, to the economic development initiatives that have we have worked hard to implement — I want to build upon these successes and continue to make Cherry Hill the great town that it is.

When I took office four years ago, I knew that being Mayor of Cherry Hill would be life changing. I have met and interacted with thousands of residents and learned something new from each and every one of them. Listening and understanding their stories has made this job so meaningful every day.

I have an open door policy and personally answer almost every email and phone call that I receive. I hold myself — and those that work in Town Hall — accountable for providing the absolute best services we can to our residents. From our police department, to our public works department, to the great staff at Town Hall, to the members of the township council who serve our community with integrity, we have operated a government that is open, transparent, efficient, and accountable.

Certain events through the years remind me why I do this job. Take Hurricane Sandy, for example. As the storm raged, I sat in the operations room at the township’s Office of Emergency Management and watched as our dedicated police, fire, and public works employees calmly handled hundreds of emergency calls. After the storm, our town had to undergo massive clean-up efforts and patiently wait for our power to come back on. Many of us were without power for days. I went out with our Chief of Police and toured the entire town. I visited and emailed many residents, while surveying the damage, and assisted in delivering food and water to those in need. It was then that I realized how great the responsibility of being Mayor truly is.

Every day, in addition to making decisions about the budget and other municipal services throughout town, I am committed to earning the trust of our community as I work with the township council to tackle every challenge.

I have worked as a full-time Mayor these past four years, ensuring that the residents receive the best representation that they can, and I will continue to do that in the future.

  • I am proud that we have not raised municipal taxes in four years.
  • I am proud that we continue to deliver strong services and I intend to continue working hard to keep Cherry Hill’s economy strong.
  • I am proud to operate the township like an efficient business, as I did when I owned a successful small business, but I know that compassion is essential too.
  • I am proud that we are increasing our investment in our road program and cracking down on property maintenance violators, helping to keep our neighborhoods beautiful.
  • I am proud that new families are moving to Cherry Hill in record numbers, and seniors are proud too, because they call Cherry Hill home.

Cherry Hill is flourishing and Cherry Hill is growing! I am proud of all that we have accomplished and I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue serving the residents of Cherry Hill for four more years.
