STEM hosts Fall Environmental Festival with success

STEM (Save the Environment of Moorestown) held its Fall Environmental Festival at Strawbridge Lake last Sunday, Oct. 4 with a focus on Sustainability. Given the weather in the days preceding, it was extremely well attended. Local sustainable food vendors were present giving out samples. The Freedom Center for Wildlife brought red screech, and barn owls. Rancocas Nature Center thrilled the crowd with their popular Enviroscape demonstration. There were recycling and up cycling by Girl Scout troop 22169 and crafts for kids young and old a like. George Fore from Wild Birds Unlimited gave a backyard birding talk that drew much attention. Several guided hikes in the adjacent Waterworks Woods were enjoyed by all.
