Freeholders Announce Oktoberfest at the County Fairgrounds

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee are joining forces to host Burlington County Oktoberfest, a fun-filled fall celebration featuring entertainment for all ages at the County Fairgrounds on Oct. 17. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.

“Featuring a 5k run, local bands, and numerous local food and craft beer vendors, this will be one Oktoberfest that residents don’t want to miss,” said Director O’Brien “It’s great to be able to partner with such a worthwhile organization like the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee to bring this great event together.”

The Burlington County Military Affairs Committee’s mission is to support the men and women of the Armed Forces at Joint Base MDL. The Committee will be hosting a classic car show, kids’ activities, a 5K cross country run that kicks off at 1 p.m. and a beer tasting tent featuring a variety of quality craft brews.

Runners and spectators alike will want to stick around to enjoy an all-star lineup of local musicians. Talent includes The Privileged Few Band, You Get What You Pay For, Red River Band and Escape Plan plus acoustic sets by Full Moon Rising and JB Rocks.

Be sure to bring a lawn chair and come hungry! Local favorites Patti Wagon, Boardwalk Specials, Cater-2-U, Dave’s Famous Fries, and Dr. Lou’s will all be on hand to serve up a wide variety of tempting dishes.

Home Depot will also be on hand with a fun craft for kids along with a face painter.

Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for donation to a local food pantry. There is a registration fee for the run and a fee for admission to the beer tasting. All proceeds from BCMAC activities will benefit military families at Joint Base MDL.
