The 2015 Medford Area CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11, to fight local and global hunger.
The walk will start at Freedom Park, Old Marlton Pike/Union Street in Medford at 2 p.m. (registration at 1:30). People of all ages, are invited to participate. Make it a family outing. Refreshments will be available at the end of the walk. Restrooms are on the grounds of Freedom Park. Walkers can choose the 3 mile or the 1 mile walk through town.
CROP Hunger Walk funds will benefit the overall work and ministry of Church World Service, working around the world to help those in need to help themselves through refugee assistance, advocacy, disaster relief and self-help development programs such as; providing seeds and tools so that people can grow their own food and dig wells that will bring clean water to villages.
Over 75 percent of the funds raised go to Church World Service to be shared with those who are most in need throughout the world.
More than 25 percent goes directly to St. Vincent De Paul in Medford and The Christian Caring Center in Browns Mills in support of their important work right here in Burlington County.
