Camden County Library joins clerk’s office for National Voter Registration Day Sept. 22

The Camden County Library is joining forces with the Camden County Clerk’s office and the Camden County Board of Elections to help residents register to vote on Tuesday, Sept. 22, National Voter Registration Day.

All eight branches of the library will have the forms available for pick up and four branches will offer one-on-one help on how to fill out forms and register by mail. Staff from the Camden County Clerk’s Office, Board of Elections and the library will be on hand give instructions at the Ferry Ave., Cruz-Perez, Haddon Twp. and Voorhees branches the entire day. However, the library will not be collecting forms. Completed registration forms should be mailed in by individual residents to complete the registration process.

National Voter Registration Day is a non-partisan effort to get more Americans registered to vote. Its website (http://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/about/) asserts, “In 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register. In 2015, we want to make sure no one is left out.”

“We are pleased to work in conjunction with the Board of Elections and Superintendent of Elections to provide residents with information about registering to vote and voting by mail. It’s a natural extension of our mission as a library to partake in this national effort,” said Camden County Library Director Linda Devlin.

Hours and the locations of the Camden Library’s eight branches can be found on the website at http://www.camdencountylibrary.org/locations-hours .
