YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties host flu shot clinic Sept 16 and 17

Flu season is officially here — and the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties is making it easier than ever for the public to protect themselves from getting sick by offering Flu Shot Clinics at the Mt. Laurel YMCA.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend the seasonal flu vaccine for everyone over six months of age, especially those who are at high risk of having serious flu-related complications or those who care for people at high risk. The vaccination clinics will offer flu shots and other seasonal vaccinations, such as Prevnar at the Mt. Laurel YMCA on the following dates:

– General Clinic (Ages 12 and older)

Wednesday, Sept. 16, 3 to 5 p.m. 59 Centerton Road, Mt. Laurel.

– Senior Clinic (Ages 65 and older)

Thursday, Sept. 17, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 59 Centerton Road, Mt. Laurel.

Vaccinations are free to those with participating insurance plans, including Medicare Part B, Aetna, Cigna and Independence Blue Cross. For all other patients, vaccinations are $30 cash. All participants will receive a 10 percent off coupon (up to $20) on groceries from Acme just for receiving a vaccine.

For more information, contact the Mt. Laurel YMCA Welcome Center at (856) 231.9622 x212 or visit www.ymca-bc.org.
