The Medford United Methodist Women’s Group is hosting their Annual Flea Market. Tables are available for $15. For reservations please email Medford Methodist Church at: [email protected] or call (609) 654–8111.
This event has been one of the UMW’s biggest fundraising events that draws large crowds from within the community. It as a great opportunity to not only sell your used items but also to find some deals. In addition, it has been tradition to have food and beverages available for purchase including coffee, tea, soda, assorted juices, Gatorade and bottled water. Food options include; donuts, bagels, all-beef hotdogs, meatball sandwiches and a variety of homemade baked goods.
The UMW uses the funds raised to support local mission projects including: The
Christian Caring Center, in Pemberton, and local charitable needs identified by the Pastor. Other group fundraisers include a Valentine chocolate pretzel sale, in February and a flower sale in May.
At a membership of 50, the UMW welcomes women of all ages. The group’s purpose is to encourage and foster spiritual growth. Three separate groups within the UMW meet monthly for Bible study and Spiritual growth. Fundraising for missions is also a key component of the group’s purpose.
Also of note, is the UMW’s upcoming event in recognition of Domestic Violence Month. Open to the community, the group is having a speaker from Providence House Burlington County. The event is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Medford United Methodist Church. All are welcome, please join us for this informational meeting.
