Woman’s Club of Medford

WomansClub

Ever wonder what a group of ladies do on the second Thursday of the month from September through June? All sorts of wonderful fun and philanthropic things. The Woman’s Club of Medford resumes their lively meeting schedule on Sept. 10 at the Medford Memorial Community Center, 21 South Main St. at 7:30 p.m.

This is not your mother’s woman’s club. They are a welcoming, fun group of ladies from Medford and surrounding areas who take pride in making the community a better place to live. Past efforts have included Medford Works and the Medford Expo, sprucing up different sections of Freedom Park and Bob Meyer Park, placing flower baskets on Main St. that were supported by local families and businesses, supporting Samaritan Hospice, The Delaware Valley Advocacy Center, Providence House, Spelling Bee for Township 5th grade students, the Seneca Pantry and Closet among other charitable endeavors.

This year the ladies have a Happy Hour scheduled for Sept. 23 from 6:30–9 p.m. at Medford Lakes Country Club, 70 Oak Drive, Medford Lakes. There will be appetizers and a cash bar as well as a chance to meet current members and learn more about the Club.

A Pink Tea is scheduled for Oct. 4, 2–5 p.m. at Medford Lakes Country Club to support breast cancer awareness and promises to be a fun filled event with prizes for most pink and best hat, a silent auction of the members’ “favorite things” as well as a fall fashion preview presented by Sheer Envy, Sole Obsession and Girlfriend’s on Main. These businesses are owned by women and have been active in supporting women in the community.

Club plans for the year include many of their past activities as well as a few new ones. Members will be assembling personal care bags for the homeless at their meeting on Sept. 10 and announcing the activities for the year. Instead of the normal, staid Holiday Party in December the ladies will have a Crazy Christmas sweater appetizer and cocktail night.

Why not stop in at the happy hour on Sept. 23 and find out why this is “not your mother’s” Woman’s Club?
