Medford Township to join cities nationwide for “America’s night out against crime”
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, neighborhoods throughout Medford Township are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “32nd Annual National Night Out” crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by Medford Township, will involve over 16,124 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, over 37.8 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime.”
National Night out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Medford Township Police Department will host their 2nd annual National Night Out on Tuesday August 4th from 6 to 9 p.m. This event will be held at Freedom Park located at 86 Union Street. Medford Township Police Department are asking you to lock your doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with your neighbors and police.
Medford Township Police Department will be hosting a variety of special events such as K-9 demonstrations, activities for the children, as well as free food and refreshments will be served.
The Medford Township Police Department invited surrounding agencies from law enforcement, fire, and EMS professions to demonstrate their services.
The community is invited to watch live demonstrations and the kids are encouraged to interact. Guests will also enjoy complimentary food from local food establishments.
