On Monday, July 13, township crews returned to zone 5 to collect brush left out for the spring collection program, as well as additional brush generated as a result of the storm experienced on June 23. Crews will continue to collect brush until all zones have been collected. The tentative brush collection schedule is as follows: zone 5: weeks of 7/13, 7/20, 7/27 — zone 1: weeks of 8/3, 8/10, 8/17 — zone 2: weeks of 8/24, 8/31, 9/7 — zone 3: weeks of 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 — zone 4: weeks of 10/5, 10/12, 10/19.
Due to the extraordinary amount of material needing collection, crews may have difficulty adhering to the collection schedule above. Our crews will make every effort to get to your street as quickly as possible. The Township is also preparing to hire outside contractors to assist with the cleanup effort, however it will take time to complete the procurement process. We are hopeful that the additional contractors will be in place by late August, which will greatly affect how quickly tree materials will be collected.
Residents who cannot wait for crews to collect their material have the option of bringing their material to the DPW garage/dump behind Bob Meyer Park at Gravelly Hollow Road and Commonwealth Drive Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every third Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12Â p.m.
Please note that private tree contractors are not permitted to dispose of this material at the DPWÂ yard.
The Department of Neighborhood Services will post periodic updates on the Township website to inform residents of their progress.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
