Window washer charged with stealing $28,000 worth of jewelry at Evesham homes

EveshamPolice

The following comes from Evesham Police Lt. Joseph Friel:

Investigation began on July 7 when officers responded to the unit block of Normandy Road for a report of missing jewelry after a window cleaning company performed services on the home. On July 12 the homeowner notified the investigating officer that she located the engagement ring lying in her driveway. She reported that the ring didn’t feel right and upon further examination by a jeweler it was determined that the center diamond had been removed from the ring and replaced with an imitation diamond.

Through the officer’s investigation he was able to link the window cleaning company, Paul’s Window Cleaning Service, to an earlier reported jewelry theft from a home on Riding Run Road in Evesham Township. The officer identified the window washer employee responsible for the thefts as a male of Philadelphia.

Evesham residents who have contracted Paul’s Window Cleaning Service of Philadelphia over the past few months are encouraged to check for any missing jewelry. Management of Paul’s Cleaning Service has been extremely cooperative with the investigation and is not suspected of having any involvement in the crimes.

Suspect:

A male, age 44, of Philadelphia, has been charged with two counts of third degree theft. A warrant has been issued for his arrest in connection with the thefts with a $40,000 bail.
