Over 200 people came out to hear the season’s first Music on Main Street concert on the Community House lawn Monday night. MoorArts provided the evening’s entertainment, which included a variety of artists performing selections of pop, jazz and musical theater. Singer Katie Carpenter accompanied by guitarist Jaren Angud kicked the evening off, followed by harpist Alyssa Caffrey, vocalists Sarah Zimmer and Olivia Manlove, and singer/songwriter Andrew Moorer.
New this season are special activities for children at 6:30 p.m. before the main stage performances at 7:30 p.m. MoorArts brought along “Mother Goose,” actress Marilyn Scanlon, who delighted younger audience members with nursery rhymes and interactive ‘live theater’.
The Music on Main Street summer concert series, presented by the Moorestown Parks and Recreation Department, and supported by Moorestown Business Association, Moorestown Community House and MoorArts, runs June 22 through Aug. 10.
