The Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. celebrated a successful first year of the Life & Legacy initiative as part of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation when they welcomed nearly 175 community members representing Jewish organizations from across Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties to Congregation Beth El on Thursday, May 14, for an evening reception.
The Southern New Jersey Jewish community secured the most commitments in Year One of the program when compared to all of the communities participating in the Life & Legacy program across the country.
Highlighting the evening was keynote speaker Barbara Greenspan Shaiman who expounded on her motto for everybody to “Live Your Legacy,” meaning that anybody can find a way to make a difference by using one’s passion to fix a problem in society.
Eighteen organizations participated in the LIFE & LEGACY program. Seventeen of these organizations were awarded a $5,000 incentive grant for meeting their benchmark goals during the year.
