Hydrant Flushing In Medford
During the entire month of June, Medford Township will be flushing the water mains. Our annual flushing removes harmless particles that have built up in the pipes over time.
The Township will be opening the hydrants to increase water flow and flush sediments from the pipes. Residents may experience a drop in pressure or discolored water. This is a normal part of the process.
During the flushing process, please avoid running tap water, using the washing machine or dishwasher.
After flushing is complete, the Township advises residents to run the cold water and wait until the water at the tap runs clear, before doing your laundry or running the dishwasher. If water pressure seems low after the flushing is complete, check your faucet screen for trapped particles.
