Cherry Hill Schools receive more than $15,000 in grants from Recyclebank

Students from six local schools attended a victory rally in their honor on Tuesday, May 19, to celebrate their participation in the 2015 Recyclebank Green Schools Program. The schools, named below, each received the full amount of funding they requested through the program, thanks to the generosity of local residents who donated their Recyclebank Rewards points, which were then converted into dollars to support the project and school of their choice.

The grants, which totaled $15,162.06 after adding a matching grant of $500 per school from corporate partner, Domtar Paper, were presented in the form of a “big check” at the event. Domtar also presented Henry C. Beck Middle School a pallet of 40 cartons of Sustainable EarthChoice Paper for winning the top prize in the art and sculpture category in Recyclebank’s national Green Schools contest.

The six Cherry Hill schools that earned grants through the Green Schools program are Henry C. Beck Middle School, Clara Barton Elementary School, Bret Harte Elementary School, Cherry Hill High School East, J F Cooper Elementary School and Joyce Kilmer Elementary School.
