The Freeholder Board will host this year’s Green Garden Fair on May 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Camden County Environmental Center, 1301 Park Boulevard in Cherry Hill.
“Bring the entire family to this free event featuring activities, a garden market and great ideas for your backyard,” said Freeholder Michelle Gentek, liaison to Sustainable Camden County. “There will be workshops presented throughout the day for you to learn the secrets to a healthier garden.”
The Green Garden Fair will include activities for children including pony rides, face painting and crafts. There will be information on gardening with kids, guided nature walks and a visit from the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels. In addition, the fair’s market will feature a wide variety of flowers, herbs, vegetables and more for purchase. Information will be provided by experts in the field of organic and sustainable gardening giving out tips and techniques for a healthy garden.
“Bring your sick plant to a clinic hosted by the Camden County Master Gardeners Program to learn how to nurse it back to health from an expert,” Gentek said. “You can also bring a plant division to participate in a plant exchange with other gardeners.”
The fair is held in cooperation with Rutgers Master Gardeners of Camden County.
“We hope to see you for this day of fun and learning for every member of your family,” Gentek said. “Together, we can make a greener and more sustainable future for our community.”
