The Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of State Hwy 70 and Chairville Road for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Driver #1 was complaining of chest injuries and was transported to Cooper Trauma by Medford EMS and Virtua Paramedics. Driver #2 refused medical treatment at the scene. Preliminary police investigation revealed that Driver #1 was travelling eastbound SH70 in a black 2003 Honda Pilot and Driver #2 was travelling westbound in a 2000 Mack dual axle dump truck. Driver #1 attempted to make a left turn on northbound Chairville Road, on a green signal and crossed into the path of Mack dump truck. The vehicles impacted in the westbound lane within the intersection. The Pilot was spun around and came to rest on the eastbound shoulder, west of the intersection and the Mack dump truck left the roadway and came to rest on the westbound shoulder west of the intersection. State Hwy 70 was closed for 5 hours for the investigation and clean up. Charges are pending the investigation of the Medford Twp. Police Traffic Safety Bureau. The Medford Police were assisted by the NJDOT Incident Management Unit, The NJSP Commercial Vehicle Unit and the Mt. Laurel Police Department.
