Temple Beth Sholom hosting program with award-winning chef Michael Solomonov on May 17
Temple Beth Sholom is presenting “An Evening with Chef Michael Solomonov: A Journey Through Israeli Cuisine” on Sunday, May 17. The event begins with a patron reception at 5:30 p.m. The main event begins at 6:30 p.m.
Michael Solomonov, James Beard award winning chef, is the executive chef at Zahav, Philadelphia renowned modern Israeli restaurant. Known for his extraordinary skill at transforming simple foods into artful culinary masterpieces, he is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top young chefs and entrepreneurs.
Join Temple Beth Shalom for this multisensory experience as Solomonov discusses his personal journey through Israeli Cuisine and defines its unique characteristics and answers audience questions.
Also appearing will be documentary filmmaker Roger Sherman, winner of an Emmy, a Peabody, and two Academy Award nominations. He is the director of the upcoming PBS series, “The Search for Israeli Cuisine.”
In honor of Solomonov’s contribution to the culinary industry, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Board Street Ministry Hospitality Collaborative.
The patron reception is an intimate experience with Solomonov as he presents kosher wine pairings with Israeli cheeses. A contribution of $118 includes the reception and the event.
The evening continues with “The Dish on Solomonov” and “Grilling the Chef Q and A” at 6:30 p.m. with Solomonov and accompanied by Sherman, with a preview of Sherman’s documentary.
“A Journey Through Israeli Cuisine with Specialities” prepared by Prestige Caterers inspired by Solomonov’s recipes will follow.
