Cherry Hill Township hosting first-ever Comedy Night on May 9

Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill Arts Board are sponsoring Croft Farm’s first ever comedy night. Cherry Hill East graduate Joe Matarese grew up just around the corner from Croft Farm and is now coming home to provide his neighbors with a night they will surely remember on Saturday, May 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Paul Spratt will be those show’s opening act.

Matarese’s autobiographical standup routine pokes fun at his subtly dysfunctional Italian family, life with a five-year-old, and a baby daughter, as well as his marriage to a psychologist (his perfect match). He turns his real life struggles into your comedic relief. Landing spots on some of the most sought after TV and radio shows, Matarese has entertained audiences on Chelsea Lately, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central Presents Joe Matarese, Gotham Comedy Live, Nick Mom’s Night Out and The Howard Stern Show. His most memorable appearance to date has been on America’s Got Talent. Matarese’s debut act received a standing ovation from not only the crowd, but all 4 celebrity judges.

This adult evening with our own local hit will also include another local favorite — Kaminski’s Sports Bar and Restaurant. Your ticket will include two alcoholic drinks as well as light fare including sliders, chicken kabobs, bruschetta, grilled veggies and penne vodka and a cash bar.

The event will be held at Croft Farm during Art Blooms, a two-week celebration of the arts in Cherry Hill centered around a juried art exhibit. In addition to Comedy Night, other events include a Carole King themed Ensemble Concert with the Ocean City Pops, a senior luncheon featuring the movie opera Turandot and a parent and child art event.

Tickets for Comedy Night are available for purchase in room 102 of the municipal building. Seating is general admission. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Adults must be at least 21-years-old to attend. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

For more information on this event, Art Blooms or to purchase tickets, contact the Department of Recreation at (856) 488–7868 or email [email protected].
