As a proud host county to the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, we are keenly aware that our country’s brave heroes are expected to uproot their lives at a moment’s notice to defend the freedoms we enjoy every day.
Military families should enjoy the privileges of citizenship — no matter how long they have lived in a particular location.
Governor Christie, with unanimous bipartisan support from the Legislature, recently signed the New Jersey Tuition Equality for America’s Military Act, to grant in-state tuition rates at public colleges to veterans, their spouses and children.
For the past two years, Burlington County College — which is consistently rated a military-friendly by national publications — has supported military members and their eligible dependents with in-county tuition rates, no matter their permanent residence. As such, we salute Governor Christie and the Legislature for implementing a similar policy statewide to provide a well-deserved financial benefit for military families to pursue an education.
Starting with the Board of Chosen Freeholders, everyone in Burlington County supports military members — including their families who make so many sacrifices in service of our country.
This philosophy is embraced by Burlington County College, which is consistently recognized for its support of military families by independent publications such as Military Advanced Education, Military Friendly Schools and Military Times.
We are proud of all veterans who choose Burlington County College to advance their education and we thank them, and their families, for their service.
