Next Korean Adoptive Families’ Korean Culture Class on March 21

KoreanClass

The Korean Adoptive Families’ Korean Culture Class, originated by the Greater Southern New Jersey Korean American Association (“GSNJKAA”), provides Korean adoptive families with an opportunity to learn more about the Korean culture through enriching education programs.

The association organizes activities and events that are designed to introduce participants to important elements of the Korean culture, dance and songs.

For example, the January class featured various guest performers and instructors including Ms. Eunjoo Kang, director of the Korean Traditional Arts Center and Ms. Jung Sook Dirkes, mezzo-soprano and connoisseur of Korean art songs.

This past month, for the February class, a volunteer group called Benesta visited the class to teach members how to cook some of the most famous Korean traditional dishes. After cooking the meals, the volunteers also taught the class how to play Korean traditional games.

For the month of March, the class will learn about Korea today, which encompasses modern fashion, music, technology, food etc. through lectures and hands on activities.

Although the class is a non-profit organization for adoptive families, it also welcomes anybody who is interested in learning about the Korean culture.

The next class will be held on March 21 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the All Nations Church located on 61 Cooper Road.

For questions regarding the class or for donation information, please contact Angela Jung at fna@kssnj.org or call (201) 753–8563.
