Hundreds turned out on Saturday, Valentine’s Day, despite the pending snow storm, to support HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue and smooch a pooch at the Kissing Booth at The Promenade at Sagemore.
A dollar a smooch was all it took to get a lick from one of HeavenSent Rescue’s loveable pals. At least a $1 kiss helps the effort to re-home a bulldog that’s been surrendered or found astray.
Michelle Scharff of HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue was thrilled with the turnout.
“This may have been one of the best attended events we have had to date at The Promenade since its inception in 2009”, Scharff said.
The event was held outdoors at the shopping center as the participants braved the elements, along with their children and family pets, mostly bulldogs.
“It was a heartfelt day and we appreciate everyone’s joy and generosity,” said Laura Balga, The Promenade’s Marketing Director and General Manager.
HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue is a non-profit organization that provides foster care, veterinary care and rehabilitation for needy adoptable bulldogs in the greater New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware area, with all funding coming from donations and fundraisers. Money raised at The Kissing Booth will go to help pay medical bills of the bulldogs taken in by the organization.
