To raise funds for our annual scholarship award, the Medford Area Branch of AAUW will be hosting a champagne brunch on Saturday, March 21 at 11:30 a.m.
Residents are invited to hear author Patti Sheehy speak about her book, “The Boy Who Said No.” Accompanying Sheehy will be Frank Mederos, whose experiences are the subject of the book. Mederos was born in Cuba and grew up to be a member of the Cuban army before defecting to the United States.
The brunch will be held in the Holly Room of the Medford Leas retirement community, located on Medford Leas Way, off of Route 70 in Medford. Tickets are $30, of which $15 is tax deductible.
